The mindset of Nikki Garcia as the new year approaches reflects personal growth and insight. In the latest episode of The Nikki & Brie Show podcast on December 30, Garcia shared her reflections on the past year and the lessons learned.
The main focus of her exploration was the concept of the “divine feminine,” which emphasized her understanding that she does not have the responsibility to “fix, change, or improve others.”
Garcia articulated a powerful realization: “We aren’t here to fix other people, we just aren’t,” she stated. “We’re here to lead by example. We are here to teach our children, nurture our children, teach others, lead by example, but we are not here to fix. And it took me 41 years to realize that, and I’m taking that into my 2025.”
She further elaborated, emphasizing the importance of being supportive in relationships without the expectation to change anyone. “You can be there for support, but you aren’t there to fix, especially in relationships that you have,” she remarked.
Reflecting on her recent divorce from Artem Chigvintsev, following his domestic violence arrest in August, Garcia hinted at the dynamics that contributed to the relationship’s challenges. She encouraged listeners to recognize unhealthy patterns early on.
“If you’re in that kind of relationship that you are fixing, you need to find your way out,” she cautioned. “Because trying to fix someone isn’t going to bring love and happiness and change.
You’re honestly, in the end, gonna drain yourself and just bring sadness. And so that hit me hard, because I definitely am now in that space, and this new era of me in 2025 is no longer fixing. I will lead. I will help. I will support. I will love, but I will not fix.” Garcia also expressed her belief that divine intervention would guide those needing help. “God will come to them and help them get on that path,” she assured.
Recently, the retired WME star finalized her divorce from the Dancing with the Stars professional after private mediation. The couple, who share a 4-year-old son named Matteo, mutually agreed to drop domestic violence restraining orders against each other to facilitate effective co-parenting. A representative provided this update in November.
Chigvintsev faced an arrest on August 29 in Napa County due to allegations of domestic violence, but the District Attorney later opted not to file charges. Following the arrest, Garcia filed for divorce on September 11, seeking sole legal and physical custody of Matteo while allowing Chigvintsev supervised visitation. Additionally, she requested the court to terminate spousal support for both parties.
In response, the Russian-born dancer sought joint custody and requested spousal support from Garcia, along with coverage of his attorney’s fees. While specific details of the settlement remain undisclosed, the reality star’s representative emphasized her dedication to prioritizing her son’s well-being.
“Nikki’s number one priority has always been her son and privacy on the matter,” her representative stated in November. “She is thankful for all of the love and support she has received during this difficult time.”
