Far-right activist and Trump supporter Laura Loomer has claimed that certain Republicans in President-elect Trump’s circle are hesitant to challenge billionaire Elon Musk.
Speaking with conservative commentator Eric Bolling on Monday, Loomer referred to Musk as “the king of the world” and suggested that his influence has made people wary of opposing him.
During the interview, Loomer expressed concerns that Musk’s substantial financial contributions to Trump’s campaign may have intimidated some within the president-elect’s base. She argued, “This is the problem when a billionaire donates $200 million. Maybe it’s time to consider campaign finance regulations in this country.”
Reports from the Federal Election Commission revealed that Musk, through his super PAC America PAC, contributed nearly $239 million—including in-kind donations—to support Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. These contributions marked Musk as a financial backer of Trump’s successful bid for the presidency.
Loomer has been vocal about her criticism of Musk, describing him as overly attached to Trump during an appearance on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast. She stated, “Many people struggle to confront billionaires and speak truth to power.
Musk is the wealthiest man globally and closely aligns himself with President Trump.” She also referred to Musk as a “Stage 5 clinger” in her remarks. The tech mogul, alongside former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy—appointed to lead Trump’s upcoming “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE)—faced backlash from some Trump supporters.
This criticism stemmed from their support for the H-1B visa program, an immigration initiative designed to attract international talent. Loomer and other hardline Republicans also targeted Musk over accusations of censorship.
According to NBC News, several right-wing accounts, including Loomer’s, lost access to features such as verification and monetization on Musk’s social media platform X, sparking further contention.
