Recent attacks in New Orleans and Las Vegas have drawn sharp criticism from President-elect Trump, who attributed the incidents to the situation at the southern border and condemned President Biden’s immigration policies amid ongoing investigations into both cases.
The individual responsible for driving a pickup truck into a crowd in New Orleans, resulting in at least 15 fatalities, has been identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a U.S. citizen from Texas.

Reports indicate that the explosion outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas was caused by firework mortars and camp fuel canisters, with the suspect identified as an Army veteran from Colorado.
Despite these details, Trump expressed his outrage on Truth Social, asserting that Biden’s border policies have led to an increase in violent crime.
He stated, “With the Biden ‘Open Border Policy’ I said, many times during rallies and elsewhere, that Radical Islamic Terrorism, and other forms of violent crime, will become so bad in America that it will become hard to even imagine or believe,” and added, “That time has come, only worse than ever imagined.
Joe Biden is the WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICA, A COMPLETE AND TOTAL DISASTER. What he and his group of Election Interfering ‘thugs’ have done to our Country will not soon be forgotten! MAGA.”
The FBI is currently investigating Jabbar’s connections after he was seen carrying an ISIS extremist flag on the rented truck used in the New Orleans attack. The bureau is working to determine any affiliations Jabbar may have with extremist groups.
In a late-night statement on Thursday, Trump lamented that the “USA is breaking down” following the attacks, describing the country as a “disaster” and a “laughing stock all over the World!” He blamed the violence on “OPEN BORDERS,” attributing the failures to weak leadership.
He criticized the Department of Justice, FBI, and Democrat-led state and local prosecutors for their perceived failures, saying, “They are incompetent and corrupt, having spent all of their waking hours unlawfully attacking their political opponent, ME, rather than focusing on protecting Americans from the outside and inside violent SCUM that has infiltrated all aspects of our government and our Nation itself.”
Trump continued, “Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to happen to our Country. The CIA must get involved, NOW, before it is too late,” warning of a violent erosion of safety, national security, and democracy across the nation.
He concluded his message with a reminder: “See you on January 20th,” the day he is set to be sworn in.
Just hours following the attack, Trump shared a similar immigration-focused message reminiscent of his campaign rhetoric, although he did not directly address Jabbar’s citizenship status.
In contrast, President Biden mentioned in his remarks on Wednesday that Jabbar had posted videos on social media shortly before the incident, indicating that he was inspired by ISIS and expressed a “desire to kill.”
