In their quest for a new head coach to guide the franchise into the future, the Jets are exploring various candidates.
Among those interviewed is Aaron Glenn, the defensive coordinator for the Lions, who has expressed a strong interest in the Jets’ position.

The Jets coaching race heats up with a familiar face
As reported by insider Brian Costello, Glenn has conveyed that the Jets are his preferred choice for a head coaching role.
Should the Jets opt to pursue Glenn as their next head coach, it would certainly generate considerable interest.
Having spent 15 years as a cornerback in the league, Glenn possesses a player’s mindset and has demonstrated his coaching capabilities effectively.
Under his leadership, the Lions’ defense achieved impressive rankings this past season, finishing fifth in rushing defense, seventh in scoring defense, and among just seven teams to record over 16 interceptions.
Notably, Glenn managed to build a strong defensive unit even without the presence of Pro Bowl edge-rusher Aidan Hutchinson, a fact that deserves recognition.
A coach like Glenn could greatly benefit teams such as the Jets, as he has a knack for elevating his players’ performance.
Previously, Glenn, a three-time Pro Bowler, played for the Jets from 1994 to 2001 after being drafted in the first round out of Texas A&M.
In the coming days, it will be crucial to observe if the Jets are inclined to pursue this direction.
If they choose to move forward with Glenn, all attention will shift to him and the new general manager, whoever that may be, as they consider the future of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
