Donald Trump has said he does not have any information suggesting that Elon Musk takes drugs, as he responded to a news report claiming the billionaire was using illegal substances during the 2024 campaign period.
An article from the New York Times, which relied on anonymous sources, mentioned that Musk was reportedly taking drugs like ketamine, ecstasy, and psychedelic mushrooms frequently while campaigning alongside Trump in 2024.

The same report stated that it could not confirm whether Musk continued using drugs while serving within the Department of Government Efficiency under Trump.
Trump Addresses the Allegations During Press Briefing
After returning from a political rally held in Pennsylvania, Trump addressed reporters on May 30. He made it clear that he did not know about any such drug-related behavior from Musk, describing the Tesla boss as “fantastic.”
When a reporter asked him whether the report bothered him, Trump replied by saying, “I’m not troubled by anything with Elon,” brushing the question aside with ease.
Musk Responds During Oval Office Appearance
During a May 30 event in the Oval Office, Musk was also questioned directly by a journalist about the drug use claims tied to his time on the 2024 campaign trail.
Musk did not answer the question but instead criticized the New York Times for its reporting, specifically referencing the outlet’s previous coverage of Russia’s involvement in the 2016 election.
Rather than comment on the drug allegations, Musk said, “Let’s move on,” as he stood behind the president near the Resolute Desk.
