Bayern Munich have had to deal with disappointment this summer while trying to boost their attacking strength ahead of the new season. They not only failed to secure multiple transfer targets but also couldn’t agree on fresh contract terms with Leroy Sane. The German winger, finally, left the club and signed for Galatasaray without a transfer fee.
A sense of relief finally came their way over the weekend when their discussions with Liverpool about Luis Diaz made progress. The Colombian attacker will be joining the German side for a total sum of €75 million. Given his experience and strong displays at Liverpool, Bayern expect him to make an instant impact.

Additional Reinforcement Still Needed in Attack
The addition of Diaz does not complete Bayern’s offensive recruitment efforts. They still want another player in that position since Jamal Musiala will not be available for the first half of the campaign. Because his injury during the Club World Cup clash against PSG was serious, the club must handle his return with caution.
Rafael Leao had been mentioned as one of the options Bayern were interested in at the beginning of the transfer window. Although discussions took place between the player’s representatives and the German club, nothing concrete followed the initial contacts.
Information shared by Sport Bild through iMiaSanMia indicates that Leao is ready to consider a move to Bayern if an agreement can be made with his current team, AC Milan. He already turned down an offer from a Saudi Arabian club, as he prefers staying in Europe’s top leagues. If Bayern want to sign him, they would need to offer wages of around €15 million each year.
What It Would Cost to Bring Leao to Munich
Signing Leao would add real strength to Bayern’s attack, especially because he is just 25 and keeps improving every year. His ability to operate from the left wing, just behind the striker, or as a false nine makes him very useful. Even though AC Milan struggled last season, he was one of the players who performed consistently well.
Still, Bayern may not be in a financial position to pay what AC Milan would likely demand for him. The Italian club’s new coach, Massimiliano Allegri, views Leao as a key member of the squad. It would take an enormous offer to make the Italian side change their mind and allow him to leave.
Since they already committed a large amount of money to sign Diaz, Bayern now want to bring in another attacker without spending too much. One player they are currently monitoring is Nick Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart. With the way things stand now, it looks less likely that Leao will make the move this summer, and he is expected to remain with AC Milan going into next season.
