A fresh addition has entered Club América’s squad ahead of the 2025 Apertura season. According to a report by Mediotiempo, the team has completed the signing of Ícaro Da Conceição, an 18-year-old Brazilian midfielder from Sfera FC.
Although the club has not shared an official statement, the player has already been seen wearing team apparel and is now listed on Liga MX’s website as part of América’s U-21 team.

Ícaro is expected to begin his journey in Mexican football under the supervision of Rodrigo Méndez, who manages América’s U-21 squad. The youth team kicked off their season with a goalless draw against FC Juárez but came out on top by winning 4-2 in the shootout.
Ongoing Focus on Young Talent
This signing adds to América’s effort to keep building its roster with young players. Ícaro follows in the path of other recent youth acquisitions such as Alexis Gutiérrez from Cruz Azul and Isaías Violante from Toluca. Both of those players have already appeared for the senior team.
The club has clear intentions for Ícaro to grow within their development setup and eventually work his way into the senior side coached by André Jardine, who, like the midfielder, is Brazilian.
At the moment, the main goal is to help him adjust to his new environment, though the long-range plan involves a future role in the first team.
