Four Nigerian stars who helped clinch victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations have now been picked among the best performers of the entire competition. Their names were revealed on Monday morning when the Confederation of African Football (CAF) released its official Best XI for the tournament.
Nigeria’s Super Falcons lifted their tenth WAFCON title after securing a hard-fought 3-2 win over Morocco in the final held in Rabat. The win came after an intense match in which the Nigerian team came from behind to reclaim the trophy.
CAF shared the tournament’s Best XI through a post on X, where it listed standout players based on their impact throughout the championship. Among the Nigerian stars selected were goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defender Mitchel Alozie, forward Rasheedat Ajibade, and attacker Esther Okoronkwo.

Other Players Who Made the List
Apart from the four Nigerians, the official selection included Morocco’s Ibtissam Jraïdi, Ghizlane Chebbak, and South Africa’s Karabo Dhlamini, Refiloe Jane, and Bambanani Mbane. Ghana also had representation through Grace Asantewaa and Portia Boakye.
Ghizlane Chebbak finished the tournament with five goals and emerged as the top scorer. Dhlamini was recognised for her consistent defensive work throughout the competition.
Individual Recognition for Nigerian Standouts
Chiamaka Nnadozie was chosen as the best goalkeeper of the tournament after her excellent performance between the posts for Nigeria. Her saves were instrumental in Nigeria’s journey to the final.
Rasheedat Ajibade was also celebrated for her performance, as she was selected as the Best Player of the competition. Her ability to influence games in midfield and create scoring chances proved crucial for Nigeria.
Esther Okoronkwo stood out with her contributions in attack, finding the net twice and assisting seven goals. Her creative output played a vital part in helping the Super Falcons lift the trophy for the tenth time.
