Teddy Swims and Raiche Wright are clearly building a future together. Their relationship was first publicly noticed in February 2024, when they attended a Grammys pre-party. By May, Wright had joined Swims on tour, performing duets onstage and sharing moments together on social media.
The couple made their romance official during a July 2024 appearance on The Kyle & Jackie O Show, where Swims expressed how well their careers align. “She does what I do, which is great,” he said, referring to Wright’s music career.
“Because it’s like maybe 3 a.m. and I’m calling her and she’s like ‘Yeah, yeah I’m in a session. I’m recording vocals.’ And I’m like, ‘Girl, yeah, handle your business, baby.’”
In early January 2025, the couple announced they were expecting their first child. Alongside photos of Wright’s growing baby bump, they shared the exciting news on Instagram: “We can’t wait to meet you, baby.”
Swims has also spoken about how supportive Wright has been during challenging moments in his life, including his struggles with chronic nightmares.
“I wake up sometimes every 30 minutes, and she’s been so wonderful and such a holistic person about, ‘Here, take some magnesium or take some of this and that,'” he explained. “It has just really helped me turn my… Calming my little… I guess, regulating my little nervous system.”
Raiche Wright’s Early Life and Love for Music
Wright was born and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and currently lives in Atlanta. Reflecting on her upbringing in the Berkshires, she shared with Berkshire Magazine in 2024, “There were a lot of cultural elements that influenced me as a Black and white woman growing up in the Berkshires and seeing both sides.”
She also recalled how fortunate she was to have had access to such enriching experiences, including a trip to Europe with an art class. “I went to Lenox Memorial High, but I lived in Pittsfield,” Wright added. “I was able to travel to Europe as part of an art class there, and I’m grateful that I had such a great experience with my schooling.”
Wright still cherishes her roots in Pittsfield, saying, “I love visiting my family in Pittsfield, going to Guido’s, and eating at Haven. When I was in high school, I would leave on my little breaks to go over there and get lunch with my friends.” She also loves spending time with family in Becket and enjoying nature in Lenox at Olivia’s Overlook.
Her Passion for Music Was Nurtured from a Young Age
From a young age, Wright was drawn to music. She released her debut EP DRIVE in 2019 and followed it up with the 2023 album Loveland.
Her journey into music began with posting covers of popular songs on social media. “I wrote my first song when I was 8 or 9,” Wright shared with Berkshire Magazine. “I’m pretty sure I still have it in a little box with other family memories back home.”
As Instagram gained popularity, Wright started recording short clips of her covers and original verses. At the time, she worked as a receptionist at her mother’s spa in Pittsfield, where she was inspired by coffeehouse music, including artists like Adele and Norah Jones.
Her Mother Was a Major Influence in Wright’s Musical Journey
Wright credits her mother, a worship leader, as a key influence on her musical path. “A lot of times I would just grab a mic and practice with [my mom],” Wright shared on her website’s bio page. Her love for singing blossomed in school plays and performances at church, where she got positive feedback.
Wright was also inspired by American Idol. She recalls how the show shaped her perspective on music: “Singing at Reigning Love Church in Pittsfield with my mom and being in school plays was also a catalyst for me to find out that I could sing. I got a lot of positive feedback from that.”
Inspired by Simon Cowell’s advice to contestants, Wright realized that she needed to carve out her own unique sound: “If you want to make it in this industry, you can’t sound like anybody else.”
How Teddy Swims and Raiche Wright First Crossed Paths
While they first made a public appearance together at a Grammys pre-party in February 2024, Swims and Wright had actually met some time before. Swims revealed in a January 2025 BBC interview that they first met “a couple of Thanksgivings ago” when Wright attended one of his concerts.
By March 2024, the couple began appearing more frequently on each other’s social media, with Wright sharing a fun photo of herself wearing a hat that read “Your mom loves Teddy Swims.

Swims and Wright are not shy when it comes to sharing their relationship with the public. They regularly comment on each other’s posts and post videos together. In June 2024, they joined in on a popular TikTok trend, where Wright mouthed “Get over here, let’s dance,” before Swims joined her.
Another playful video from that month showed Wright capturing Swims spitting out a piece of candy, which she then quickly caught herself and began chewing. She captioned it, “Just two peas in a pod.”
Their Couple’s Tattoo Marks a New Chapter
In June 2024, Wright revealed that she and Swims got matching tattoos. The couple shared black-and-white photos of the tattoos on their hands — Swims had “Raiche” inked on his index finger, and Wright got “Jaten,” Swims’ real name, tattooed on her wrist. Wright also posted a behind-the-scenes video of their tattoo experience.
