Demi Moore and Bruce Willis have continued to place their family above everything else. While speaking with People magazine in an interview published on April 22, the 62-year-old actress from Substance, who once received an Oscar nomination, opened up about what she appreciates the most about her long-standing connection with her former husband.
She explained that no matter how things looked from the outside, their sense of family has always remained strong.

Moore said they’ve held on to the original base of their relationship, and even though it has changed shape, the importance of their children has always come first.
Their Bond Remains, Even After Marriage Ended
Moore and Willis were married from 1987 until their divorce in 2000. During their time together, they had three daughters: Rumer, now 36; Scout, 33; and Tallulah, 31. After retiring from acting because of a dementia diagnosis in 2023, Willis has been spending time with his current wife, Emma Heming Willis, and their two daughters.
Back in 2021, Rumer Willis shared her own thoughts with People, saying she appreciated how her parents worked hard to make sure she never had to choose sides following their separation.
Family Unity Despite Divorce
Rumer said that she had many friends who had divorced parents while they were still young, and she watched how those friends sometimes had to choose which parent to be with during holidays or other events.
She was thankful that her parents made such strong efforts to keep the family bond, even though the situation was different from before.
Marking Bruce’s 70th With Joy
Earlier this year in March, Moore celebrated Bruce Willis turning 70 by posting cheerful pictures on Instagram. These photos showed their daughters smiling alongside both parents, sitting on a couch and enjoying each other’s company.
Moore Shares More About Their Connection
When speaking to Variety back in February, Moore explained that even though her relationship with Willis has taken a different shape, she still sees them as a family.
She made it clear that she never hesitated to be present for him because, in her words, that’s what you do for those you love. She ended her birthday post with a short but warm message: “Happy birthday, BW! We love you.”
