Honda has issued a recall due to a potential engine stalling problem affecting certain models, including the Honda Pilot, Acura MDX Type S, and Acura TLX Type S. This recall, which impacts nearly 295,000 vehicles, was recently reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
According to Honda’s recall documentation submitted to NHTSA, the problem originates from incorrect settings within the electronically controlled fuel injection system.
This malfunction may result in an inconsistent torque delivery, leading to drive power loss, hesitation, or even an engine stall. Affected vehicles include the 2021–2025 Acura TLX Type S, the 2022–2025 Acura MDX Type S, and the 2023–2025 Honda Pilot.
To resolve the issue, vehicle owners must take their cars to an authorized Honda or Acura dealership, where technicians will update the fuel-injection system’s electronic control software.
Dealerships have already received notifications regarding the recall, and Honda has announced that affected customers will be informed via mail by March 17, 2025.
