After a strong season opener against the Buffalo Bills, the New York Jets have now dropped two consecutive games, scoring only ten points in each.
While their defense has battled to keep them in the game, they were unable to prevent the Dallas Cowboys and the New England Patriots from taking control. Looking ahead to their Week 4 matchup, the Jets are eager to avoid falling to a 1-3 record, with the Kansas City Chiefs standing in their way.
Though defeating the reigning Super Bowl champions is no easy task, defensive lineman Jermaine Johnson II is optimistic that they can disrupt quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
“We got something for him, we got something for him,” Johnson declared to Jets 360 Productions Senior Director Eric Allen, as shared by Heavy Sports’ Jets reporter Paul Andrew Esden Jr.
With defensive stars like Johnson, Quinnen Williams, C.J. Mosley, D.J. Reed, Jordan Whitehead, and Sauce Gardner, the Jets certainly have the talent to make an impact.
However, pressuring Mahomes may prove challenging, especially considering the Chiefs’ offensive line has allowed just one sack through the first three weeks.
The line, featuring standout players like center Creed Humphrey, left guard Joe Thuney, and left tackle Donovan Smith, has been exceptional so far this season.
The Chiefs’ defense has been equally impressive, ranking fourth in points allowed per game (13.3), seventh in total yards allowed (280.7), and sixth in passing yards allowed (178). Jermaine Johnson and the Jets’ defense will face a tough test when they take on the Chiefs in Week 4.
