Berglund remains uncertain about whether she will adopt her future husband’s last name. While appearing on Cooking with Bradley Steven Perry, the Lab Rats star reflected on the possibility of changing her last name after the couple ties the knot.
“Um… Well, for acting purposes, I might hyphenate it,” she mentioned to fellow actor Bradley Steven Perry from Good Luck Charlie. “I don’t know, I don’t know.” She then shrugged and added, “Haven’t thought that far ahead.”
Recently, Berglund shared her engagement to musician Tyler Wilson through a joint post on Instagram dated November 9. During that announcement, she indicated her intention to take on the Wilson surname, captioning the post, “Mrs. Wilson incoming 💍.”
“I would love for Wilson to be in there somewhere. I mean, I think our kids’ last names will probably be Wilson,” she told her former Disney co-star. “I don’t know how that works, though, with SAG and stuff. Am I allowed to change my name? You don’t think there’s a Kelli Wilson already? There’s definitely not a Kelli Berglund-Wilson.”
In addition to considering the practical aspects of a name change, the Heels actress displayed her new diamond engagement ring, which she had removed at the beginning of a Christmas cookies baking video because she “didn’t want to get it all chocolatey.”
The beautiful diamond is cut in an oval shape and set on a gold band.
Berglund and Wilson’s relationship has consistently attracted attention. The couple regularly shares pictures of themselves on Instagram, with Wilson most recently posting a series of affectionate photos in late October leading up to their engagement, writing, “Your favorite power couple’s favorite power couple👩🏼🤝👨🏻🖤.”
It seems that the newly engaged couple began dating in early 2016, as Berglund referred to Wilson as her “boyfriend” on X (formerly Twitter) that summer. “Dragging boyfriend to a makeup event ✨,” she wrote in a tweet shared on June 3, 2016. The accompanying photo features Wilson kissing Berglund on the cheek during the Maybelline New York Beauty Bash.
