On Monday, President Biden will deliver remarks in commemoration of the 156th Memorial Day at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
He is also slated to participate in the annual wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, while the White House flag is being flown at half-staff in recognition of the occasion.
In a graphic shared on the social media platform X, Biden expressed his tribute to the fallen and acknowledged their sacrifices. “Since America’s founding, our service members have laid down their lives for an idea unlike any other: the idea of the United States,” he stated.
“Today, as generations of heroes lie in eternal peace, we live by the light of liberty they kept burning. May God bless them, always.”
The President’s remarks are scheduled for 11:15 a.m. EDT.
