An important issue loomed for the Minnesota Vikings. However, that challenge appears to be more manageable now.
Sam Darnold’s performance in critical games did not help his case for retaining a position with the team. Consequently, the Vikings may be considering parting ways with him, allowing him to enter free agency while opting to start their rookie, J.J. McCarthy, in the upcoming season.

In light of this, Jaime Eisner has identified the top three teams with the best chances of signing Darnold: the Pittsburgh Steelers, Las Vegas Raiders, and New Orleans Saints.
It’s not surprising that these teams are in the market for a quarterback, given their needs.
The Steelers face a decision regarding Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.
Neither option seems to provide a sustainable long-term solution, and both would likely require a significantly higher salary than what they received this past season.
The Raiders are reportedly interested in targeting Shedeur Sanders during the NFL Draft.
If that doesn’t materialize, they cannot afford to start the next season with Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew at the helm.
Meanwhile, the Saints appear to be reassessing their strategy after the lackluster results of the Derek Carr experiment.
With concerns about Spencer Rattler’s potential as an NFL quarterback, it’s logical for the Saints to pursue the best available option in free agency.
