Shedeur Sanders, who formerly played quarterback for Colorado, mentioned on Saturday that he has not yet made up his mind about whether he will throw during the NFL scouting combine coming up next month in Indianapolis.
Although Sanders made an appearance at the East-West Shrine Bowl, he did not join any of the drills or the upcoming game on Thursday.

On Saturday morning, he showed up at the University of North Texas to observe the West team’s first practice session, standing quietly on the field while other players went through their routines.
Confidence Without Stepping on the Field
Even though he’s not doing any physical workouts at the Shrine Bowl, Sanders maintained that he still sees himself as the top choice for the 2025 NFL draft. He has been staying in shape and preparing in the Dallas area alongside Cam Ward, who also played quarterback at Miami and is another strong candidate for the draft.
“We changed how things were done at Jackson State,” Sanders said. “Then we went to Colorado and did it again. We accomplished things people didn’t expect us to do. That’s why I believe I’m the safest option any team can go for.”
Sitting Down with Potential Draft Teams
Sanders had meetings with several NFL teams on Friday, including the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and New York Giants, the three clubs that currently own the first three selections in the draft order. According to Sanders, the meeting with the Titans lasted around 45 minutes.
He appreciated being face-to-face with those making decisions, saying, “It helps that I can be upfront, and they get to hear straight from me. They can ask me whatever is on their mind. I’m not avoiding anything. I’m here, right in front of them, and ready to respond.”
Open to Any Opportunity
Although Sanders has his eyes on the top spot in the draft, he explained that he will be grateful no matter which team selects him. “Whatever team I go to, I’ll be thankful,” he said. “And I know I’m going to bring improvement to wherever I land.”
When asked what he would contribute to whichever team picks him, Sanders grinned and responded, “Plenty of wins.”
Family Presence and Team Support
His older brother, Shilo Sanders, who plays safety, is also in Texas for the Shrine Bowl events. Colorado is being represented by other players as well, including wide receivers Will Sheppard, LaJohntay Wester, Jimmy Horn Jr., and cornerback Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig.
