Donald Trump, in a Truth Social announcement on Tuesday, revealed two new ambassadorial appointments for his administration. “It is my great honor to announce that John Arrigo will serve as the next United States Ambassador to Portugal,” Trump stated on the platform, extending a warm welcome to the businessman joining his team.
Arrigo currently holds the position of vice president at the Arrigo Auto Group, a business operating in West Palm Beach, Florida. Trump frequently conducts meetings at his Mar-a-Lago estate in the same region.
“John is a highly successful entrepreneur in the automotive industry and an accomplished golfer. For over three decades, he has been a remarkable business leader in West Palm Beach, earning respect from everyone,” Trump expressed in the post.
“I have known John for many years. He will excel in this role, serving our country and prioritizing America above all,” he continued. In a separate announcement, Trump introduced Somers Farkas as the upcoming United States Ambassador to the Republic of Malta. “Somers is a model, philanthropist, documentary producer, and highly accomplished businesswoman,” Trump highlighted.
Her previous contributions include serving on Trump’s President’s Commission on White House Fellowships, where she spearheaded philanthropic initiatives for organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Lighthouse Guild, and the New York Women’s Foundation.
Trump also emphasized Farkas’s role as a trustee of the New York City Police Foundation, praising her steadfast support for law enforcement with the statement, “She has always BACKED THE BLUE.”
